“Our air conditioner broke down over the weekend. It happened overnight on Friday. We called Clark Heating and Air on Saturday morning (we’ve had an annual maintenance contract with them for a few years), and Noah came out to see us on Saturday afternoon. In an ice block, the Coil was completely frozen.
It might have been a failed valve, which would have cost significantly more money, or a low level of Freon, according to Noah. He had to return on Sunday since he wouldn’t know for sure until the coil thawed out.
He did and ultimately found that the only thing keeping one of our three air conditioning zones from cycling off and causing the coil to freeze up was a damper that had been caught in the closed position. We were ready to leave after he cleaned the damper and applied some oil to it. He only billed us $75 for one service call.” – Don Bethel
